What is a carrier library?
A carrier library is an inventory of carriers that is kept for lending purposes. Library programs may allow you to borrow items for a period of a one to four weeks, depending on the business. All my library programs are 30 day loans.
Why use a library?
Children grow and change so dramatically in their first two years of life that it is extremely hard to predict which carrier will suit you and your child best from their time as an infant through to toddlerhood. Why get stuck owning three or four carriers when we offer the flexibility to borrow what you need right now! A membership will give you full access to the library by renting items for less than our standard costs and for longer periods of time.
With a Basic library membership you will be able to borrow any carrier for $13 a month, or any Premium Carrier for up to $25 a month.
Becoming a member means that:
- Anytime your child has a growth spurt, you can change the carrier you need to accommodate their new size and protect your back.
- You can try a wide variety of carriers without worrying about the cost. Most individuals will purchase three carriers or more; this can cost you up to $300. (Assumes basic carriers purchased are a ring sling / stretchy wrap, mei tai, or a SSC like an Ergo.)
- You can have access to carriers not available locally .
- You will always have the carrier you need, whether you have infants, babies or toddlers through to three years of age.
- You can easily accommodate any short-term or urgent needs, such as going on a trip and you find that you need to borrow something different.
- You will always have full access to a resource library for free, whether you want to borrow a DVD, book or pamphlet.
Basic Library Membership
This is a great program for those who want access to all the basics and more. This collection includes the most commonly available carriers in Canada in all carrier categories.
Basic library membership: $50 annually.
Mandatory deposit: $150.
FREE access to the resource library.
Rental costs per carrier: $13 + tax.
First loan is free.
Special Occasion carriers: Up to two loans at 15% off. Full deposit value of sling will be required if it exceeds your current deposit amount.

Carriers are loaned subject to availability. Full deposit on all carriers & instructions borrowed is mandatory; no exceptions will be made.
Premium Library Membership
You’ve heard so much about all the different types of carriers out there and would love to try more than one? Then this is for you! A Premium Library Membership gives you access to a wider variety of carriers made with luxurious fabrics such as silk, hemp or linen, as well as access to European & American brands that are not available in Canada!
Need to borrow more than one carrier at a time? Premium members can borrow any two carriers valued less than $250 retail.
Premium Membership: $75 annually.
Required Deposit: $250.
Rental Costs per carrier: up to $24 + tax.
FREE access to the resource library.
Can borrow up to TWO carriers at a time.
Special Occasion carriers: Up to two loans at 20% off. Full deposit value of carrier will be required.

Any carrier from the collection can be borrowed for a special occasion. Baby carrier rentals start at $15 for a one week period. Taxes are extra. Mandatory deposit rules apply.
CARRIER LOANS
Carrier rentals are a great way to test drive a carrier without making a commitment of $100 or more. Confused about all the different brands of carriers out there and want a little breathing room to try them all out? This program is perfect for those who are:
- Unsure about what you and your baby will like? It is hard to determine if a carrier is THE one for you simply by trying it in the store or for a three day period. A two week rental will give you a real chance to take it for a test drive as you go about your daily life.
- Looking to try something that is not available locally? Why spend the money to go through various carriers, only to discover they do not suit your, or your baby’s, needs? I have a number of carriers that are not available in Ottawa. Why not test drive items that you’ve only read about on the Internet today!
- Want an unbiased opinion? By only renting carriers, I don’t have a vested interest in selling you a carrier that is only available in my shop. I am only interested in helping you find the best match for you!
Renting a carrier will cost as little as $20 for a two week period.

- the age, height and weight of the child;
- the adult's size;
- preferred carrying position and health history; and,
- your budget too!
